Like the other poster, I too am on a bit of a mission to visit on behalf of a family friend who lost his life at Ashio. I think I've worked out how to *basically* get there from Tokyo, but as I live here in Japan, I don't want to be disrespectful to any of the remaining communities in the area or the area itself.
